сравнение захватов архивов и библиотек;

проект: истоки, использование ранее существовавшего опыта (Первая мировая война и начало Второй мировой войны);

процессы: организация, транспорт, хранение;

действующие лица: специальные структуры и отдельные личности;

грабежи нацисткой Германии в Австрии и на Востоке (Украина, Польша, Прибалтика);

японские грабежи в Азии и на Тихом океане;

советские изъятия в Германии и Восточной Европе;

захваты в ходе Второй мировой войны в Италии, Германии и Австрии;

коллаборационизм;

адаптация к повседневности;

сохранение и утаивание;

специфика захватов, связанных с геноцидом евреев (попытаемся сравнить здесь происходившее во Франции и в Восточной Европе);

хищения по политическим и религиозным мотивам;

молчание, память и требования о возвращении;

исчезнувшие фонды и пути их выявления;

различные подходы к реституции;

Call for papers Colloquium "Archives or libraries seizures and restitution during the 20th Century" October 22nd and 23rd 2010 Seized first by the Nazis, and then by the Soviets, numerous French archives
have been restituted by the post-Soviet Russia at the end of the XXth Century. This was the starting point for researches about the peculiar trip through Europe of these documents confiscated in public institutions, associations, trade-unions, or belonging to private persons - often Jewish. Patricia Grimsted and Sophie Coeuré’s studies on the archives’ seizures or Martine Poulain’s works on libraries’ seizures had opened a new way, whereas Claude Lorentz had put into light the restitution process of the archives recovered from Germany. The goal of the upcoming conference is to assess the current situation of these researches and to open new perspectives. Through a comparative point of view between different national situations, this colloquium will take place in Strasbourg on October the 22nd and the 23rd 2010. The papers will be grouped in four thematic panels: Introduction and definitions : International Laws' evolution about archives and libraries seizures

1. Archives and libraries seizures in France during the Second World War - Comparison between archives and libraries seizures - the project : origins, replay of past practices (First World War, beginning of the Second World War). - processes : organisation, transportation, storage - actors: specific bodies, characters

2. Comparison of the seizures in space and time - Nazi Germany confiscations in Austria and in Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Poland, Baltic States) - Japanese confiscations in Asia and pacific islands - Soviet confiscations in Germany and Eastern Europe - When democracies seize : End of the Second World War (in Italy, Germany, Austria), colonization Round table : The decade of seizures (1938-1948)

3. From the despolied’s point of view

a. Institutions – collaboration - the day-to-day actions - to preserve and to hideb. Private persons - the specific Jewish case (trying to compare French and Eastern Europe’s situations) - the despoliations on political and religious groundsc. a regional identity of the despoliations: Alsace-Lorraine’ s case

4. The impeded restitution - silence, memories and claims - losses and inquiry trails - restitution logics Round table on European archivists and librarians’ practices at the time of the restitution of the documents.
